The biggest reason I switched Kilho.net from GNUboard to WordPress was design.
WordPress makes it easy to change the layout design using «themes.»
It also has a large user base, so there are many individuals and companies creating themes. Choosing a theme can be fun in itself.
Most worthwhile themes are paid, but relatively inexpensive.
(Most cost under $50.)
I’ve often wondered in the past whether it might be possible to change a GNUboard layout using a Tistory skin.
If you split the layout file of a Tistory skin above and below the area where the content is output, handle the basic variables and options, and then output each part from head.php and tail.php, you can easily use a Tistory skin in GNUboard.
(However, I’ve kept putting the idea on hold because the copyright of Tistory skins is something to consider….)
